Description

Tapes can be made from different type of glassfibers and sizings; typically E or ECR (Boron free) glass. Woven roving tapes can have balanced construction (same area density in warp and weft) or unidirectional (>80 % in one direction ). They are woven on narrow looms, typically from 1 to 35 cm wide; area density varies from 200 gr/M2 up to more than 1 kg/M2.

Features

  • Mainly used to produce profiles by pultrusion or cylindrical parts by filament winding
  • Very stable (stiffness can be adapted) and tolerances on the widths are very tight
  • Woven edges allow the tape to remain stable during processing and avoids fiber raveling
