PORTAFLAME? SG -LV and -LSA grades are produced from carefully selected, synthetic aluminium hydroxide (ATH). This range of PORTAFLAME? SG -LV and -LSA grades are “Low Viscosity” optimized grades with exceptional low Oil Absorption values giving the formulator the opportunity to achieve higher loading levels in different polymer systems. PORTAFLAME? SG -LV and -LSA grades are ground halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) fillers, used in a broad range of applications. The mechanism of flame-retardancy is mainly based on the endothermic decomposition of the aluminium hydroxide (heat-sink effect) while simultaneously releasing water vapour. This reaction starts at about 200C. PORTAFLAME? SG -LV and -LSA grades are not classified as a dangerous substance (DSD and CLP) and do not contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), including substances formed during the thermal decomposition of the ATH during a fire.
