SILFAR^®

Description

SILFAR® is the name of WACKER’s range of silicone-based products specifically intended for the pharmaceutical and food industries, as well as for use in fermentation and other biotech processes. SILFAR® products feature outstanding chemical resistance. They are not resorbed in the digestive tract, and are therefore not metabolized. They are colorless and odorless.Because of their special range of properties, SILFAR® antifoam agents are widely used in human and veterinary medicine. Another field of application is heavily foaming biotechnology processes. Many products of the SILFAR® range and their ingredients satisfy the monographs in the European Pharmacopoeia and the requirements of the US Pharmacopeia.
