BYK W 961 is a wetting and dispersing additive that prevents settling in ambient curing resin systems, specifically for mineral-filled polyurethane systems. BYK W 961 additive provides anti-settling properties that are beneficial for mineral-filled composite materials. As an anti-settling additive, BYK W 961 helps ensure uniform dispersion of fillers in composite matrices and prevents premature settling. It is soluble in propylene glycol and can cross-link with isocyanates during curing of advanced composites. BYK W 961 additive is recommended at levels between 0.5-1.5% to achieve optimal rheology and mechanical properties for high-performance composite materials.
